Hi, I need some help. I've tried to install homebrew using bannerbomb, as I was following instructions of someone, i installed some wads cios 16, 35 e 36 and my system started to black screen. So i erased system memory and when i try bannerbomb again its goes until that screen wich shows number 1. At this moment it freezzes the screen (right before it shows number one). I"ve tried everything using bannerbomb without sucess. My wii is 4.2u. Im thinking about upgrading to 4.3 and then use letterbomb, as i dont have the games used to hack (like indiana jones, lego, mario smash, others). I need one advice, if i should upgrade or if i should buy the game to hack. Please help me....

It sounds like you had followed an old guide and messed with your IOSes. Formatting the system does not fix those IOSes and they are still broken. Updating to 4.3 should fix it, so I suggest you update and then use Letterbomb.

Why doesn't LetterBomb work if my MAC address starts with 00-22-XX-XX-XX-XX?

Make sure you entered it correctly. MAC addresses that start with "00-22-4C", "00-22-AA", or "00-22-D7" should work; if the 3rd byte of your MAC address is something other than 4C, AA, or D7 then it will not work and you will have to use a different exploit.

The "Exception (DSI)" error is just what happens when an app crashes and is not harmful. It can be caused by many things, but usually occurs when unsupported things are plugged in to the USB ports (or Gamecube ports, but if I remember your Wii doesn't have them). So if there's something plugged in, try the Homebrew Browser without it. If that doesn't fix it then a format of your SD card should.
As for Priiloader, you install it like any other app, put it in the apps folder on your SD card and run it. It will then install itself onto your Wii.

Hi Lord 64,

It's all done now! Thanks so much for all help from you! It's a really good website you built up that makes be able to learn a lot of things about Wii. Thank you!

Thanks

Hello, Lord 64:)
That's me come back. I didn't hack my wii in Jan because I was distracted by something else. Now I am doing this! It would be appreciated if I could get some help from you.
I can enter home brew menu now. However, when I was using home brew browser, it sudenly became black screen and showed "exception (DSI) Occurred" with a lot of codes. Then I restarted wii and it still can enter the main menu. Hope it is nothing wrong with it. Now I am going to install priiloader as you suggested. I've already downloaded on my PC. What should I do for next? How can I install it on my wii? To be honest, when the screen was black, I was so nervers to die.....
Thank you

It's not problem; Yes you will not be able to install BootMii as boot2. The "prepare SD card" option is only for installing the files that BootMii needs. You don't have to install BootMii as IOS because it doesn't really offer much brick protection other than making a NAND Backup (which is a backup of all the files on the Wii's System memory). I suggest you install Priiloader which is an app that puts itself before the Wii System Menu and should help you fix a number of bricks. It's really the best option for those who can't install BootMii/boot2.

can you help me or direct me to a place where i can have step by step
instructions for hacking my wii system 4.3 or at least installing the home brew browser? Ive been trying for almost 2 weeks now.....m still having problems like when i start
the wii brew browser hack on the Home Brew Channel the screen goes black
but then it tells me to push (A) for updates & (B) to skip updates but once
i get there my wii remote either turns off once i try to press it or
flashes repeatedly

It sounds like you have a newer Wii remote (often called "Wiimote plus") that has Wii Motion+ built in. The remote is too new for the Homebrew Browser so you must wait for the next version to come out. Until then you can download apps from WiiBrew.org and put them onto your SD card. Be aware though, there are a number of other apps that don't work with new Wii remotes.

I would say to try it but most likely it was just a typo on my part. I have only read reports from others about MAC addresses that don't work. They may have typed it wrong and I only copied it, so it's probably "e0:0c:7f" that doesn't work.

I GOT IT TO WORK!!!!! Man so happy right now, spent the last two nights up til 2am, so tired.

Ok so my mozilla wasnt loading the please.hackmii.com, so i used crappy internet explorer which loaded the page, with a fault on the blue button. Anyway, when i used IE to create the file for my MAC address i ended up with two separate date folders in the private folder. I thought this was odd, deleted explorer cache and temp files and tried it again, the same thing happened. Decided to use works computer today through mozilla which loaded the please.hackmii.com. The file output here was only one date folder this time. I sent this to my home email, did another FAT32 format of the SD card and placed the files on the card.

The only difference was the lack of two date folders! and finally the red letterbomb appears!

So happy. So my MAC address is fine, in case anyone else is concerned.

Cheers

Hi,

Im having trouble getting the letterbomb to show up on the wii msg screen. I read on one of your pages:

Some Wii's have MAC addresses that don't match with Nintendo's list of MAC addresses (for example 00:1A:E4:xx:xx:xx or 0e:0c:7f:xx:xx:xx will not work). There is no way around this so if your Wii's start with these MAC address prefixes then you must use a different exploit.

My Wii prefix for version 4.3e Mac address starts with e0:0c-7f:...............rather than 0e:0c:7f. Is this an error or should my mac address work with letterbomb? ive tried everything, reformatting the wii, resetting dates, reformatting SD card to fat32, using a different sd card....ill probably resort to finding super smash bros. Thanks for the help.
